Great news from a local band that has been lovingly featured on TWIS in the past: (the) Umbrella Cult is about to release their debut record! The Cock & Bull Pub will host this momentous occasion within Sarasota’s music scene on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012.

It was non-stop action at the St. Pete Chillounge Night, with parades, fashion show after fashion show, lively music acts and plenty of chill seating to enjoy the bites and cocktails. It was a truly impressive feat conquered by founder Rainer Scheer, and also a grand tribute to Francisco Azucar, who passed away that evening. Azucar was a wonderful designer who worked with Patti Wooten-Thompson, owner of Phassion Magazine, in helping make the Chillounge Daybed Parade so stylish and special. We headed out to Culinary Rhythms benefiting the Center for Building Hope, hosted by Bill Garst at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. We found a plethora of happy people and wonderful sponsors. Then we checked out the Bearded Clam Waterfront Restaurant & Tiki Bar‘s new toys and great renovation. They’re totally ready for the three-hour long dueling pianos next Friday! Illustrator Nick Sirotich is nervous and exhausted, but excited overall. He just hopes that everything doesn’t explode. Sirotich’s first solo show opens at Clothesline Gallery this Saturday, and since Sirotich doesn’t settle for just hanging prints on a wall, getting ready for the show has been a huge process. “It’s bigger than anything I’ve taken on on my own,” Sirotich says.
