Description

Come celebrate the historic preservation of the Manatee County Courthouse with a ribbon cutting ceremony, music, food and other festivities on Friday, April 20th from 5:30-8:00 PM at 1115 Manatee Avenue West.

The Courthouse turns 100 years old this year and the restorations make  the building more energy efficient and safer. An ARRA grant through the Department of Energy funded the replacement of the air chiller and funding through the Board of County Commissioners paid for the installation of energy efficient windows, roof replacement and the repair and replacement of the brick façade, which will take this historic building back to what it looked like in the early 1930s.

At 5:30, local dignitaries will host the ribbon cutting ceremony. From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., festivities will include music by The Wirebeaters, and food prepared by Zirkelbach Construction Grill Team, available for a $5.00 donation, to be used by Realize Bradenton to support future concerts at the courthouse.

The Manatee County Commissioners and their staffs, R.B. “Chips” Shore the Manatee County Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller, and Realize Bradenton are hosting this event.  Bring blankets and chairs to sit and enjoy the music.
